A high performance, dynamic, driven, and growing company operating in the motor industry has a vacancy for a Stock Controller to join their team in Selby, Gauteng.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be required to:
• Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels by conducting regular stock and cycle counts and reconciling any discrepancies
• Implement and maintain efficient inventory control procedures including stock rotation (FIOF) principles and proper storage practices.
• Creating new stock items on the system and necessary procedures for labelling, storing and receipting is followed.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with inventory management policies and procedures.
• Oversee warehouse team to oversee efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods.
• Monitor and track slow moving or obsolete stock and propose appropriate actions such as promotional activities or write offs to minimise financial losses.
• Generate accurate reports on stock levels, stock movements and stock valuation on a regular basis for management review.
• Administration and record keeping off all related documents
• Continuously improve inventory management processes to enhance efficiency, reduce costs and optimise stock availability.
• Any ad-hoc duties
Educational pre-requisites:
• Matric or equivalent qualification
• Minimum of 3 year’s experience in a stock control, inventory management or related field within the motor industry will be preferred
• Familiarity with inventory management software and systems.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and inventory valuation methods.
• Good understanding of supply chain management concepts.
• Excellent numerical and mathematical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Physical ability to perform tasks that may involve heavy lifting and moving of stock.
